Installation Guide – Planet Hosts Studio

Installing on Windows

System Requirements

Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
100 MB free disk space
Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (installed automatically with Windows 11; see note below for Windows 10)

Installer (recommended)

Go to the Downloads section on the home page and click Download for Windows.
Run the downloaded .exe file.
If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, click More info → Run anyway (the app is unsigned during beta).
Follow the installer prompts and launch Planet Hosts Studio from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

Portable version (no install)

⏳ The v2.0.0-beta Windows Portable build is coming soon — the installer is the supported Windows option right now.

Windows 10: if the app window doesn't load (blank area where the chat should be), install the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (bundled installer: MicrosoftEdgeWebView2RuntimeInstallerX64.exe — or from https://developer.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/webview2/) and restart the app.

Installing on macOS

System Requirements

macOS 12 or later (Monterey+)
Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel
2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
100 MB free disk space

Installation

Go to the Downloads section and choose Download for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Download for Intel — pick the build matching your Mac.
Extract the downloaded .zip (double-click in Finder, or unzip PlanetHostsStudio-v2.0.0-beta-macos-*.zip in Terminal).
Move the extracted app into a folder such as /Applications/PlanetHostsStudio/.
Launch it: right-click (or Control-click) the app → Open (repeat once if prompted), or run ./PlanetHostsStudio.Avalonia from Terminal.

First launch on macOS shows "Planet Hosts Studio" cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. To allow it: right-click (or Control-click) the app in Applications → Open → Open again in the dialog. You only need to do this once.

If macOS still refuses to open it ("damaged" / "cannot be opened"), clear the quarantine attribute in Terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/PlanetHostsStudio/PlanetHostsStudio.Avalonia

Installing on Linux

System Requirements

Ubuntu 22.04+ or Fedora 38+ (64-bit)
2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
100 MB free disk space

Linux x64 (.zip)

Download the Linux .zip file.
Extract it: unzip PlanetHostsStudio-v2.0.0-beta-linux-x64.zip
Make it executable (first run): chmod +x PlanetHostsStudio.Avalonia
Run it from that folder: ./PlanetHostsStudio.Avalonia

chmod +x PlanetHostsStudio.Avalonia
./PlanetHostsStudio.Avalonia

Self-contained build (ships most dependencies). On Ubuntu, if the app reports FUSE/GTK library errors, install libfuse2: sudo apt install libfuse2.

First-time setup

Launch the app and log in with your Planet Hosts account credentials (username, password, API key).
Select your radio station.
In the Encoders panel, configure your stream connection (server, port, password, mount point) using the details from your hosting panel, then click Connect.
Add music to a playlist and load it into AutoDJ to start broadcasting.
